It Gazes Back

Sprung from an internalisation of Nietzsche's quote "and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you" - a phrase oft interpreted as an ominous darkness with the power to overcome oneself.

On pondering darkness; empty, noiseless spaces, we may just find some nourishment. Even still, some overwhelming sense of possibility.

An empty stage to choreograph as we choose. A kind of meditation, a blank canvas. There is a fullness to the emptiness in that it acts as an invitation to a way forward and to become more deeply rooted in who we are.

And so here, an ode to permeable voids & temporal abysses.

At times through the creative process, when I've felt like I've really poured myself into a project I've wondered how I could possibly do it again, or even, what I could have left to say.

The sentiment above touches on the duality of blank spaces; luxurious & daunting all at once.

The overwhelm of empty pages.

Somehow, then filled with inner worlds now living outer.
